Though sounding like an oxymoron, Retro Futurism is the depiction of what the future was going to be like around the year 2000, as usually seen from the 1920s - 1960s. This type of artwork often found its way to movie posters, books, propaganda, film and book covers. Think jet packs and ray guns set in an art deco backdrop.
